After friends and fans got a hold of London’s worded discourse on the City of South Bend, including the one named in his Facebook post, ‘Walter West,’ memes and backlash instantly began surfacing social media. London’s post was no longer visible on his Facebook page after that.

South Bend residents barred none when it came to expressing feelings of dissent. One Facebook post in particular read, “Our city might not see eye to eye on a lot of issues, but I know one g** d** thing, disrespect us and we united with the trollin.”

Mentioned friend, Walter West’s response to London’s backlash: “He deserves every bit of this slander.”

Update 12:24 p.m. June 27, 2019

This afternoon October London leaves these closing remarks, “I’m disgusted at how my statement has been dismantled and twisted. I’ve had love for my city my entire life. The internet is powerful.”

    1. Most of the things happening in South Bend right now are being done by some pretty ignorant people. One way to highlight your ignorance is number 1 by continuing to slander a human being who hails from where you live and has made it, which you are still doing. The 2nd thing is your complete and utter lack of knowing the English language and spelling in general. These 2 facts further perpetuate the ignorance in the city as well as your own.

  2. Wow. I’m from South Bend, IN born and raised. To be honest I don’t know who the hell October London is. Yes there are people from your hometown that know you and listen to your music. So you just was basically a local artist in our hometown that made it big in the music industry. I never heard you, your music or seen your video’s on tv. But anyway any true artist especially the ones this October guy grew up listening to before he became an artist. True artist will rep their city hard no matter what. He failed to realize that these other artist live in a rough city way worst then south bend. And they still go hard for they city and give back to their community no matter what the circumstances are or how bad they city make them feel. Ijs. Those are my thoughts

  3. October London is great. People preceive things how they want to. He has applied himself and purused greatness. He has done nothing but try to do good things for our city and draw attention to its many talented artists. I think all he was doing was expressing his dissapointment in all of the unessessary violence and fighting going on both in the streets and politics. He wants better for OUR city. I don’t blame him for not wanting to represent bullshit! Get it TOGETHER South Bend. #United we stand, divided we fall.

  4. Wow, what has our generation came to that we can sit around and bash another African-American man that came from nothing and became something yes what he said was not correct in our eyes everybody has their own mine set I’m sure he might have meant that in a different way I’m only saying that because I grew up with the man and really no him, he’s a good dude that I’ve seen work hard to get where he’s at today. While we were at the parks playing basketball, he was home writing, while we was out going to local stupid House parties he was Putting his money to good use pipe morning is all brand .
Then I read people are talking about he’s not giving back just because he has a record deal doesn’t mean he’s a multimillionaire he’s just getting his feet wet trying to build his brand to make more opportunities for him so when that happens I’m pretty sure he will put the right people in position to make that opportunity there opportunity but let me ask you a question would you put someone or give someone the opportunity that couldn’t handle that opportunity I’m just being real A lot of people don’t even see the opportunities that lie in front of them right now so why would he give a random person the opportunity that can’t even identify a small opportunity or lays right there in front of them every day . It’s crazy how a lot of people hate on your success Lil Boosie said it best the most hate that he ever got was from his own city
